The Youth Group

Objective

The group was established in April 1990. Through organizing activities and meetings, members support each other and facilitate their social life and interpersonal relationships. The group offers a platform for young persons to realize personal development, to learn to live within a group and to promote the spirit of mutual support and care.

Membership

Formed by hearing impaired individuals

Eligibility

1. Applications are welcome from hearing impaired members aged between 16 and 35.
2. Members are required to participate in volunteering activities, and who are patient, perseverant, proactive, and passionate in working with others and helping others.

Meeting

Second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Meeting will be held at 7:30-9:00pm in Tseung Kwan O Multi-services Centre.

Past Activities

The group organizes various visits and outdoor services, in order to facilitate life skills of the members and belonging to the group. The group also arranges outreach activities for hearing impaired volunteers to organize various courses and act as the tutor, translator and teaching assistant. It aims to exhibit the talents of the members and to offer chances for members to engage in exchange programmes, to promote an inclusive spirit and to bring sign language cultures to community organizations.
