When Typhoon and Rainstorm Signals are hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory, the services of Hong Kong Society for the Deaf (the Society) will be carried out according to the situations as indicated below:

Remarks
✔Centres remain opened, and activities will be held as usual
✖Centres will be closed, and activities will either be cancelled or postponed
Remarks (1)If the Centres are not open yet and the activities have not commenced yet, the Centre will remain closed and the activities will either be cancelled or postponed.
Remarks (2)If the activities are being carried out, the Society will arrange the participants to stay or leave depending on the weather conditions.
Arrangements after the Typhoon or Rainstorm Signal has been cleared:
If Typhoon Signal no. 8 or the Black Rainstorm Signal
1)Was cleared at or before 7am, and the traffic conditions permit, the activities of that day will resume as normal.
2)Was cleared at or before 12nn, and the traffic conditions permit, the activities of that afternoon will resume as normal.
3)Was cleared at or before 4pm, and the traffic conditions permit, the activities of that evening will resume as normal.
When normal operation has been resumed, the Society will decide whether the planned activities could still be carried out accordingly, members are welcome to call or fax to our Centres for updates.
(The above arrangements are not applicable to Child Care Centres and the Deaf Cafeteria)
