The Speech Therapy Centre aims to help hearing impaired people improve speech, voice, language and communication abilities through aural rehabilitation and speech therapy.  

Target service users

1. Hearing impaired people.
2. The students of our two Special Child Care Centres.  

Training Format     

Individual or group session.  

Training Content     

Training content might differ for each individual. In general, each applicant would undergo a formal or an informal assessment to find out the problem and determine therapy goals. The following are some common areas in training:  

1. Auditory -- Training the use of residual hearing and lipreading to comprehend speech and language.
2. Speech -- Eliminating speech errors and improving speech intelligibility.
3. Voice -- Training the proper use of voice in speaking.
4. Language -- Training the use of appropriate language to express.

Non-member                   60 dollars
Member                           30 dollars

Application for the service     

Any hearing impaired person can apply the service through the following ways:

1. self / family members' application through telephone, fax or mail.
2. doctors' referral.
3. agency's referral.  

Withdrawal from the service

1. The service users can withdraw from the service at his/her own discretion.
2. Based on therapy outcome, the speech therapist would decide whether the service  would be continued or suspended.
