Highlights

PRC acts as a Parents' Platform
PRC serves as a platform where parents and relatives of children with hearing impairment can share experience and seek mutual support with the assistance from staff members. It serves parents and relatives in all regions in Hong Kong.

Our Believe – PAT (Parents As Teachers)
PRC actively trained the parents as volunteers who could serve the hearing impaired children and promote the concept of integration to the public.

PRC is a "Farmer" for the children
PRC believes that each child has their own potential, regardless of his/her disabilities. It organizes various programmes to develop their potential and build up their confidence, such as, Children Taekwondo Classes, Teenagers' Hip Hop Dance and Girls' Rhythmic Gymnastics.

We Promote: Integration and Exchanges
PRC organizes visitations to local organizations in order to widen the scope of our members. Also, it encourages the hearing impaired children and their families to share their experience to the public by organizing programmes with other organizations.

John Tracy Clinic Correspondence Course

The Society introduced the Chinese version of the John Tracy Clinic Correspondence Course in May 1987 with the aims to help Chinese-speaking parents develop the communication and language skills of their hearing impaired children. Apart from serving local parents, this course also serves parents in other Asian-Pacific regions including China, Macau and Taiwan as well.

The Course consists of two parts. The first part is the Baby Course which meets the needs of the parents whose hearing impaired children are under 2 years of age. The second part is the Pre-schooler Course, which suits the parents of hearing impaired children who are between 2 to 6 years of age.
