Introduction

Since 2006, with the funding support of the Occupational Deafness Compensation Board, the Society has been operating the Occupational Deafness (OD) Rehabilitation Network(ODRN). The service aims at helping persons with occupational deafness(OD persons) re-integrate into the community through various activities designed to let them regain confidence and motivation to interact with families and the community.

 

Service Objectives

Through various programs and activates for OD persons and their families and friends, ODRN achieves the following objectives:

Offer updated information and resources for OD persons :
●　Let OD persons obtain updated news and information from
　 Occupational Deafness Compensation Board and rehabilitation
　service
●　Let OD persons obtain related information of social service and
　 community recourses
●　Make service referral for OD persons

Build up a supportive network for OD persons :
●　Encourage more communication among OD persons
●　Offer opportunities for OD persons to participate in social
　 activities so as to broaden their social circle
●　Equip OD person with communication skills of the hearing
　 impaired and by continuous contact with OD persons, strengthen
　 their social support network
