TKO Centre/Sheung Tak Child Care Centre/PPC closed due to suspension of electricity supply (3 Dec 2009)

Flag Day: 19 Dec 2009 Centres Closed To facilitate the operation of “Parents Resource Centre” flag day, we will suspend our services(including Head Office, Hong Kong Centre, TKO Centre, NT Centre, Kowloon Centre and Parents Resource Centre)on 19 December 2009. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Centres closed at Winter Solstice’s evening (22 Dec 2009) The Society will suspend the evening service of all service centres on 22 December 2009 (Tuesday) at Winter Solstice.
International Day of Disabled Persons 2009 Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities
announced that this year’s International Day of Disabled Persons will
be celebrated on 27 Nov. Disabled persons are used to enjoy a free-ride
day in major Hong Kong transportation and free use of culture and recreational
facilities under Leisure & Culture Services Department by using a
free-ride card issued by Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities
(picture on the left). But a new policy
is also announced: No more free-ride card will be issued for
disabled person and instead it will be replaced by “Registration
Cards (new card with photo of cardholder) for the Disabled”, issued by
Central Registry for Rehabilitation of Labour and
Welfare Bureau(Issued by Health, Welfare & Food Bureau before
reorganization of Government structure at July 1 2007) .
Therefore, our deaf members will not receive free-ride cards this year.
If you would like to apply for a “Registration Cards for the Disabled”,
please contact Labour and Welfare Bureau at 2509 4891 or download information
from website: If you have not yet renewed your old registration card, please act now.
New Territories Multi-services Centre: resume to
normal service From 6 November 2009, all service of our New Territories
Multi-services Centre at Tuen Mun will resume to NORMAL after the completion
of urgent repairing of Centre’s facilities.
Hong Kong Centre Service Suspension Temporary Office

New Life Membership Card New Life Membership Card, to replace the old paper card, was issued to all Life Members by mail in April 2009. Please note that the old card will become invalid. For enquiry, please contact our Head Office.
Application for membership for 2009-2010 year From now on, you can renew your membership 2009-10 at our service centres. To save our environment, your current membership card can be reused! Remember to bring with your membership card when you come to renew your membership. For English mailing renewal form, please download from our website: http://www.deaf.org.hk/eng/e_member.php If you are our current member (2008-2009 membership holder), you can still enjoy your membership until 31 March 2009.

Renew your membership Your 2007-08 membership has already expired on 31 March
2008. To renew your membership for year 2008-2009, you can come to our
Head Office, Hong Kong Centre, Kowloon Centre, TKO Centre or NT Centre
in person or apply via mail by using the mailing renewal form. If you
wish to receive newsletter in May, please complete your application procedure
on or before 12 April.
Staff Development Day Service Suspension Notice All staff will participate in the "Staff Development Day" which will be held on 13 March 2008 (Thursday). And all Centres, including Head Office will be closed on that day. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Staff Fund raising result of our
regional flag day The Society’s regional flag day has been held on 22 December 2007 and until February 2008, a sum of $970,000 was raised. Once again we would like to show our appreciation to all volunteers, members and agencies for your generous support to our Parents Resource Centre. A special thanks to volunteers, member and staff who have joined the Gold Flag Ambassadors Scheme, as well as to the agencies joining the Charity Company/Campus Gold Flag Sales. Your continued support would be a great encouragement to us and to those in need!
Chinese New Year Holiday
Training Day for Society’s Staff: All services suspended on 29 March The Society will conduct a training day for all staff
on 29 March 2007. No service will be offered on that day and head office
and all service centres (except Deaf Cafeteria) will be closed. We apologize
